Text

Upon the entry of a judgment of adoption, the clerk of the court that entered the judgment shall prepare a certificate of adoption and send the certificate to the Department of Public Health, pursuant to Sections 16 and 17 of the Vital Records Act. The statutory fee of the clerk of the court for that certificate shall be paid by the petitioners. Nothing in this Act shall be construed to prohibit the amendment of a birth certificate in accordance with subsection (6) of Section 22 of the Vital Records Act.
