In addition to the number of circuit judges otherwise authorized by this Act, there shall be one additional circuit judge elected in the 9th circuit, who shall be a resident of and elected from Fulton County. The additional circuit judgeship provided by this subsection shall be filled by appointment until that judgeship is filled by election at the 2006 general election.
