The board of inspectors shall serve without fee or compensation. It shall be their duty to assure that the house of correction is operated in accordance with the minimum standards established by the Department of Corrections pursuant to Section 3-15-2 of the Unified Code of Corrections. There shall be a meeting of the entire board, at the house of correction, once every 3 months. At such meeting the board shall fully examine into the management in every department, hear and determine all complaints or questions not within the province of the superintendent to determine, and make such further rules and regulations for the good government of the house of correction as to them shall seem proper and necessary.
