§ 11-101-2

Whenever the corporate authorities of any municipality have established an airport outside the corporate limits of the municipality and have determined that it is essential to the proper and safe construction and maintenance of such airport to vacate any roads, highways, streets, alleys, or parts thereof in unincorporated territory lying within the airport area or any enlargement thereof, and have determined that the public interest will be subserved by such vacation, they may vacate such roads, highways, streets, alleys, or parts thereof, by an ordinance.
