§ 6-506

The county clerk on and after the filing with him of the certificate provided for in Section 6-505 by the district clerk shall for a period of 5 years thereafter extend as taxes the amount certified by the county board, township board of trustees or highway board of trustees, as the case may be, which the highway commissioner has determined as necessary to be raised by taxation for the proper construction, maintenance and repair of the roads of the district as provided in Section 6-501 at a rate not in excess of the rate approved by the voters of the district under Sections 6-504 and 6-505 and in no case shall such taxes so extended exceed .66% of the value, or .94% of the value in districts with less than $10,000,000 total equalized assessed valuation if such higher rate has been approved
