§ 6-4008 — Petition for referendum

If a petition is filed with the county clerk not later than 28 days after the first publication or the posting of the resolution, signed by not less than 5% of the number of legal voters who voted at the last general election in such county, requesting that the question of establishing an annual tax levy for the purpose of obtaining funds to construct, reconstruct or remodel a courthouse be submitted to the electors of the county, the county clerk shall certify the question to the proper election officials for submission at the next regular scheduled election in accordance with the general election law.
