§ 6-18001 — Bonds for medical services and law enforcement

For the purpose of improving hospital, medical, and health services and for improving law enforcement, any county with a population of 1,000,000 or more inhabitants may, prior to December 1, 1970, by resolution of its County Board, incur an indebtedness and issue bonds therefor in amounts not exceeding in the aggregate of $12,000,000. Such bonds shall bear interest at a rate of not more than the maximum rate authorized by the Bond Authorization Act, as amended at the time of the making of the contract, and shall mature within 20 years from the date thereof. The resolution authorizing this issuance of bonds may be made effective without the submission thereof to the voters of the county for approval.
