§ 3-5016 — Quarters; office hours

Every recorder shall keep the recorder's office at the courthouse of the county for which the recorder was elected recorder, or in counties of the second or third class in some other suitable building provided at the county seat by the county for which the person was elected and shall keep the office open except as hereinafter provided and attend to the duties thereof in counties of the first and second classes from 8 o'clock A.M. to 5 o'clock P.M. of each working day, except Saturday and Sunday, and in counties of the third class from 9 o'clock A.M. to 5 o'clock P.M. of each working day, except Saturday and Sunday. The hours of opening and closing of the office of the recorder may be changed and otherwise fixed and determined by the county board of any county. Any such action taken by the county board shall be by an appropriate resolution passed at a regular meeting. The office of the recorder shall accept instruments for recordation at all times during which the office is open.
