§ 3-3027 — Notice of inquest

The coroner shall make a reasonable attempt to notify the family of the deceased, and all known eyewitnesses to the death, of the date an inquest is to be held. Such notice shall be given at least 7 days before the date of the inquest. Such family members or eyewitnesses shall, if they request it, be given an opportunity to testify at the inquest. For purposes of this Section, "family" includes the parents, children, brothers and sisters of the deceased.
