(Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2027) Sec. 15.6b. Next generation 9-1-1 service. The Illinois State Police shall maintain a statewide next generation 9-1-1 network. The next generation 9-1-1 network must be an Internet protocol-based platform that at a minimum provides:

(1)improved 9-1-1 call delivery;
(2)enhanced interoperability;
(3)increased ease of communication between 9-1-1 service providers, allowing immediate transfer of 9-1-1 calls, caller information, photos, and other data statewide;
(4)a hosted solution with redundancy built in; and (5) compliance with the most current NENA Standards.
