(a)This subsection (a) applies through the 180th day following July 12, 2019 (the effective date of Public Act 101-80). The Illinois State Police shall, 180 days prior to the expiration of a concealed carry license, notify each person whose license is to expire a notification of the expiration of the license and instructions for renewal. Applications for renewal of a license shall be made to the Illinois State Police. A license shall be renewed for a period of 5 years upon receipt of a completed renewal application, completion of 3 hours of training required under Section 75 of this Act, payment of the applicable renewal fee, and completion of an investigation under Section 35 of this Act.
