§ 8-247 — Duties of city officers

The proper officers of the city and of the Board of Education and of the retirement board, without cost to the fund, shall: (a) Deduct all sums required to be deducted from salaries of employees, and pay such sums to the board in such manner as the board shall specify. (b) Furnish the board on the first day of each month information regarding the employment of any employees, and of all discharges, resignations and suspensions from the service, deaths, and changes in salary which have occurred during the preceding month, with the dates thereof. (c) Procure for the board in such form as the board specifies, all information on the employees as to the service, age, salary, residence, marital status, and data concerning their dependents, including information relating to the service rendered by the employee prior to the effective date. (d) Keep such records concerning employees as the board may reasonably require and shall specify.
