§ 22-208 — Widow's and children's pension

Whenever any active member of the fire insurance patrol or any former member of the fire insurance patrol who has retired on pension under the provisions of this Division dies his widow or his child or children under 16 years of age shall be entitled to pension payable monthly as follows:

(a)To the widow of a deceased active member, 12 1/2% of the salary of such member at the time of death, but not less than $30;

(b)To the widow of a deceased member who has retired under the provisions of this Division, and which widow was married to such member at the date of his retirement 25% of the pension such member was receiving at the time of death, but not less than $30;

Payment for the benefit of such minor child or children may be made to such person or persons and in such manner as the Board of Trustees shall in their sole discretion determine. The amount of such pensions or payments shall be uniform with respect to all widows of deceased patrolmen, and with respect to all children of deceased patrolmen. The amount of any future payments to be made to widows and children of deceased patrolmen who were receiving payments prior to July 7, 1955, shall be determined in accordance with this section.
