The State Comptroller and employer payroll officers, in drawing warrants and checks for items of salary on payroll vouchers certified by employers, shall draw such warrants and checks to participating employees for the amount of salary or wages specified for the period, and shall draw a warrant, check, or electronic funds transfer to this system for the total of the contributions required under Section 15-157. All warrants and electronic funds transfers covering such contributions, and a deduction register pertaining to the payroll supplied by the employer, shall be transmitted immediately to the board.
