§ 14-143 — Duties of State Comptroller

The State Comptroller shall draw warrants or prepare direct deposit transmittals upon the State Treasurer payable from the funds of this system for purposes provided for in this Article upon the presentation of vouchers approved by the Executive Secretary of the board in accordance with authorization of the board. The Comptroller, in drawing warrants for items of salary and wages on payroll vouchers certified by a department, shall deduct the employee contribution to be withheld therefrom in accordance with this Article, as certified in such payroll vouchers and shall draw a warrant made payable to the system for the total of the contributions so withheld on each such payroll voucher.
