Text
A member who enters service on or after January 1, 1984, or after July 1, 1982 as an emergency or temporary employee, as defined in Sections 8b.8 and 8b.9 of the Personnel Code, may receive membership service credit for periods of employment during which he or she was an employee but not a member by making contributions for such periods based on his or her compensation and the contribution rate in effect when he or she last became a member of the System, plus regular interest thereon to the date of payment unless payment is made within the first 6 months after becoming a member or prior to July 1, 1984.
