(Text of Section from P.A. 102-700) Sec. 2-9. Hospital exemption.

(a)Tangible personal property sold to or used by a hospital owner that owns one or more hospitals licensed under the Hospital Licensing Act or operated under the University of Illinois Hospital Act, or a hospital affiliate that is not already exempt under another provision of this Act and meets the criteria for an exemption under this Section, is exempt from taxation under this Act.
(b)A hospital owner or hospital affiliate satisfies the conditions for an exemption under this Section if the value of qualified services or activities listed in subsection (c) of this Section for the hospital year equals or exceeds the relevant hospital entity's estimated property tax liability, without regard to any property tax exemption gra
