§ 605-945

(was 20 ILCS 605/46.38) Sec. 605-945. Development of safe and decent housing. The Department shall foster the development of safe and decent housing for Illinois citizens and shall perform all duties provided by law. In performing this responsibility the Department shall have the power and duty to do the following: (1) Coordinate and, wherever provided by law, supervise or administer the several programs of State and federal assistance and grants related to housing and urban renewal, including but not limited to housing, redevelopment, urban renewal, urban planning assistance, building codes, building code enforcement, housing codes, housing code enforcement, area development, revitalization of central city cores, mass transportation, public works, and community facilities, and furnish technical assistance on any program of housing and urban renewal. (2) Exercise the rights, powers, and duties provided in sub-paragraphs (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9), (10), and (12) of Section 605-115. (3) Perform other duties that may be necessary to implement applicable law and to ensure orderly administration of the Department.
