§ 1b — Definitions

As used in this Act: "Person with one or more disabilities" means a person who, by reason of a physical or mental impairment, is or may be expected to require assistance to achieve independent living or competitive integrated employment. "Vocational rehabilitation" means those vocational or other appropriate services that increase the opportunities for competitive integrated employment. "Independent living" means those services necessary and appropriate to support community living and independence. "Director" means the head of the designated State unit within the Department responsible for administration of rehabilitation and independent living services provided for in this Act, including but not limited to the administration of the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended by the Wor
