To indemnify and protect board members and employees of boards against civil rights damage claims and suits, constitutional rights damage claims and suits, death, bodily injury and property damage claims and suits, including defense thereof, when damages are sought for alleged negligent or wrongful acts while such board member or employee is engaged in the exercise or performance of any powers or duties of the board, or is acting within the scope of employment or under the direction of the community college board. To indemnify and protect board members and employees of boards against civil rights damage claims and suits, constitutional rights damage claims and suits, death, bodily injury and property damage claims and suits, including defense thereof, when damages are sought for alleged negligent or wrongful acts while such board member or employee is engaged in the exercise or performance of any powers or duties of the board, or is acting within the scope of employment or under the direction of the community college board. Such insurance shall be carried in a company licensed to write such coverage in this State.
