The Department shall, from funds appropriated for this purpose, reimburse schools which have undertaken corrective action. Such schools, upon completion of an inspection by the Department, shall be eligible for reimbursement only for those projects found to have been conducted in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the rules promulgated thereunder. Schools shall apply for such reimbursement to the Department on forms designed and provided by the Department. The amount of reimbursement for which a public school district is eligible shall be calculated by the Department based upon a Grant Index developed by the State Board of Education.
