Use of special funds to purchase tax anticipation warrants - Payment. Any board holding in its treasury any fund set aside for use for some particular purpose that is not immediately necessary for such purpose may by resolution adopted by a vote of a majority of the full membership of the board use the money in such fund, or in the aggregate of such funds if there may be more than one, in the purchase of tax anticipation warrants of the board ordered issued by the city council of such city at the request of said board of education. Such warrants shall bear interest not to exceed the maximum rate authorized by the Bond Authorization Act, as amended at the time of the making of the contract.
