Text

To award or provide for the awarding of high school credit to high school students who have studied a foreign language in an approved ethnic school program. The amount of credit awarded shall be roughly equivalent to the amount of credit the student would have received if he or she had reached the same level of foreign language proficiency at a public high school as he or she achieved at the ethnic school. The school board may require a student seeking foreign language credit under this Section to successfully complete a foreign language proficiency examination.
