Text

(1)In case of the death, resignation, or permanent removal from office for any cause of the governor, the lieutenant governor shall succeed to all of the powers, duties and emoluments of the office of governor for the residue of the term, and shall be, in all respects, the governor of the state. Upon such succession, the office of lieutenant governor is vacant, and shall be filled as provided by law.
(2)In case of temporary inability to perform his duties, or in the case of his temporary absence from the state, the lieutenant governor shall perform such duties as acting governor until the disability is removed, or until the governor returns to the state.
(3)In any case in which the lieutenant governor succeeds to the office of governor, the president pro tempore of the senate shall serv
