§ 67-4721 — PURPOSE

Idaho·Title 67 STATE GOVERNMENT AND STATE AFFAIRS·Ch. 47 DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
(1)It is hereby declared that there exists in this state a need to promote sound economic development, to improve the economic health of the state, to promote employment, and to improve the tax base of the state by encouraging the formation of development finance sources that enhance the availability of capital for new, emerging, or expanding business enterprises. Public resources are not intended to replace existing capital markets, but they can be carefully targeted to fill gaps in capital availability. It is hereby declared that it is a valid public purpose to preserve and promote the safety, health and welfare of this state and its citizens by the exercise of the powers specified in this act to provide grant programs to development finance sources.
