§ 39-3123 — DESIGNATION OF STATE MENTAL HEALTH AUTHORITY AND STATE SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER AUTHORITY

The Idaho department of health and welfare is hereby designated the state mental health authority and the state substance use disorder authority, hereinafter referred to as the state behavioral health authority. The state behavioral health authority is responsible for overseeing the state of Idaho’s behavioral health system of care. The department shall fulfill this role through a collaborative process, taking into consideration and incorporating whenever reasonably possible the recommendations and evaluations of the state behavioral health planning council and the regional behavioral health boards in all statewide efforts to expand, improve, modify or transform the behavioral health service delivery system of the state.
