Text
1.A criminal history data check prepayment fund is created in the state treasury under
the control of the department for the purpose of allowing any non-law enforcement agency
or person to deposit moneys as an advance on fees required to conduct criminal history data
checks as provided in section 692.2.
2.Thedepartmentshalladoptrulesgoverningthefund,includingthecreditingofdeposits
made to the fund. Prepaid fees deposited in the fund are appropriated to the department for
use as provided in section 692.2.
3.Interestorearningsonmoneysdepositedinthefundshallnotbecreditedtothefundor
to the agency or person who deposited the money but shall be deposited in the general fund
of the state as provided in section 12C.7. Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys remaining in
