Text
1.A registered agent may resign the agent’s agency appointment by signing and
delivering to the secretary of state for filing the signed original and two exact or conformed
copies of a statement of resignation. The statement may include a statement that the
registered office is also discontinued.
2.After filing the statement the secretary of state shall mail one copy to the registered
office, if not discontinued, and the other copy to the association at its principal office.
3.A statement of resignation takes effect on the earlier of the following:
a. 12:01 a.m. on the thirty-first day after the date on which it is filed with the secretary of
state.
b.The designation of a new registered agent for the association.
