Text
1.A permit shall be required for the following:
a.Except for a nonregulated use, a person diverting, storing, or withdrawing water from
any surface or groundwater source.
b.A person who diverts water or any material from the surface directly into an
underground watercourse or basin.
2.The commission may adopt, modify, or repeal rules pursuant to chapter 17A specifying
the conditions under which the director may authorize specific nonrecurring minor uses of
water for periods not to exceed one year through registration.
3.Notwithstanding any exemptions from permit requirements, nothing in this part
exempts water users from requirements for reporting which the commission adopts by rule.
