The keeper of each jail shall:
1.See that the jail is kept in a clean and healthful condition.
2.Furnish each prisoner with necessary bedding, clothing, towels, fuel, and medical aid.
3.Serve each prisoner three times each day with an ample quantity of wholesome food.
4.Furnish each prisoner sufficient clean, fresh water for drinking purposes and for
personal use.
5.Keep an accurate account of the items furnished each prisoner.
6.Keep a matron on the jail premises at all times during the incarceration of one or
more female prisoners; keep either a jailer or matron on the premises at all times during
the incarceration of one or more male prisoners, and make nighttime inspections while
any prisoners are confined, or provide for incarceration in a jail which conforms to the
