1.Iftwoormorecountiesagree, pursuanttochapter28E,tosharetheservicesofacounty
attorney, the county attorney shall be elected by a majority of the votes cast for the office of
county attorney in all of the counties which the county attorney will serve as provided in the
agreement. The election shall be conducted in accordance with section 47.2, subsection 2.
2.The effective date of the agreement shall be January 1 of the year following the next
generalelectionatwhichthecountyattorneyiselectedasprovidedbythissectionandsection
39.17.
