Text
1.The operator of an escort vehicle serving as an escort in the movement of vehicles and
loads of excess size and weight under permits required by this chapter shall have a driver’s
license as defined in section 321.1 valid for the operation of the escort vehicle.
2.The department shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A for all escort requirements.
The rules shall include operator requirements; escort vehicle requirements; and length,
height, width, and weight requirements for the load or vehicle being moved under an annual
or single-trip permit or in a special or emergency situation.
