When used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:

1.“Bureau” means the community colleges bureau of the higher education division of the department established under section 260C.6.
2.“Bureau chief” means the bureau chief of the community colleges bureau of the higher education division of the department.
3.“Community college” means a publicly supported school which may offer programs of adult and continuing education, lifelong learning, community education, and up to two years of liberal arts, preprofessional, or occupational instruction partially fulfilling the requirements for a baccalaureate degree but confers no more than an associate degree; or 3 COMMUNITY COLLEGES, §260C.5 which offers as the whole or as part of the curriculum up to two years of career and technic
