Text
1.An Iowa marriage initiative grant fund is established in the state treasury under the
authority of the department. The grant fund shall consist of moneys appropriated to the
fund and notwithstanding section 8.33 such moneys shall not revert to the fund from which
appropriated at the close of the fiscal year but shall remain in the Iowa marriage initiative
grant fund. Moneys credited to the fund shall be used as directed in appropriations made
by the general assembly for funding of services to support marriage and to encourage the
formation and maintenance of two-parent families that are secure and nurturing.
2.It is the intent of the general assembly to credit to the Iowa marriage initiative grant
fund, federal moneys provided to the state for the express purpose of supporting marriag
