Text
All of the following rights shall apply to a person with an intellectual disability, a developmental disability, a brain injury, or a chronic mental illness:
1.Wage protection. A person engaged in a work program shall be paid wages
commensurate with the going rate for comparable work and productivity.
2.Insurance protection. Pursuant to section 507B.4, subsection 3, paragraph “g”, a
person or designated group of persons shall not be unfairly discriminated against for
purposes of insurance coverage.
3.Citizenship. A person retains the right to citizenship in accordance with the laws of
the state.
4.Participation in planning activities. A person has the right to participate in the
formulation of an individual treatment, habilitation, and program plan developed for the
person.
