Text
The department shall administer long-term living and community support services and
programs that allow older individuals and individuals with disabilities to secure and maintain
maximum independence and dignity in a home environment that provides for self-care
with appropriate supportive services, assist in removing individual and social barriers to
economic and personal independence for older individuals and individuals with disabilities,
and provide a continuum of care for older individuals and individuals with disabilities.
Funds appropriated for this purpose shall be allocated based on rules adopted by the
department pursuant to chapter 17A. The department shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter
17A that allow the department to collect information as necessary from long-term living and
