Text
Any funds, including social security benefits, coming into the possession of the
superintendent or any employee of the mental health institute belonging to any patient in
that mental health institute, shall be deposited in the name of that patient in the patients’
personal deposit fund, except that if a guardian of the property of that patient has been
appointed, the guardian shall have the right to demand and receive such funds. Funds
belonging to a patient deposited in the patients’ personal deposit fund may be used for the
purchase of personal incidentals, desires, and comforts for the patient.
