Text
1.Each producer who signs a statement certifying that the producer is a bona fide
producer is entitled to one vote. At the close of the referendum, the secretary shall count
and tabulate the ballots cast. If a majority of voters favor establishing an Iowa sheep and
wool promotion board and imposing an assessment, an Iowa sheep and wool promotion
board shall be established. The assessment shall be imposed commencing not more than
sixty days following the referendum as determined by the Iowa sheep and wool promotion
board, and shall continue until terminated by a referendum as provided in subsection 2. If
a majority of the voters do not favor establishing an Iowa sheep and wool promotion board
and imposing the assessment, the assessment shall not be imposed and the board shall
not be establ
