Text
1.It is the purpose of this chapter to promote, preserve, and protect the public health,
safety, and welfare through the effective regulation of the practice of pharmacy and
the licensing of pharmacies, pharmacists, and others engaged in the sale, delivery, or
distribution of prescription drugs and devices or other classes of drugs or devices which
may be authorized.
2.Practitioners licensed under a separate chapter of the Code are not regulated by this
chapter except when engaged in the operation of a pharmacy for the retailing of prescription
drugs.
3.Afamilyplanningclinicisnotregulatedbythischapterwhenengagedinthedispensing
of birth control drugs and devices pursuant to section 147.107, subsection 5.
