Text
The department shall be responsible for all of the following:
1.Providing population-based oral health services, including public health training,
improvementofdentalsupportsystemsforfamilies,technicalassistance,awareness-building
activities, and educational services, at the state and local level to assist Iowans in maintaining
optimal oral health throughout all stages of life.
2.Performing infrastructure building and enabling services through the administration
of state and federal grant programs targeting access improvement, prevention, and local oral
health programs utilizing maternal and child health programs, Medicaid, and other new or
existing programs.
3.Leveraging federal, state, and local resources for programs under the purview of the
department.
4.Facilitating ongoing strate
