Text
1.Prior to suspending, restricting, or revoking a registration, refusing a renewal of
registration, or otherwise disciplining a registrant, the board shall serve upon the registrant
a notice in accordance with section 17A.12, subsection 1. The proceedings shall comply with
the contested case procedures in accordance with chapter 17A. The proceedings shall also
be conducted without regard to any criminal prosecution or other proceeding. Proceedings
to refuse renewal of registration shall not abate the existing registration which shall remain
in effect pending the outcome of the administrative hearing.
2.The board may suspend any registration while simultaneously pursuing emergency
adjudicative proceedings in accordance with section 17A.18A, if it finds that there is an
