Text

The state official or employee of any state department, board, bureau, commission, committee, authority, or other state agency to whom a depository bank sends the statement of account, paid items, and related material shall notify such depository bank of the existence of any unauthorized signature or alteration appearing on any such paid item or related material. The notification shall be in writing and shall be delivered to the depository bank as soon as the unauthorized signature or alteration is discovered, but in no event no later than 90 days from the closing date of the annual state audit for the fiscal year during which the unauthorized signature was affixed or during which the alteration occurred.
