For the protection of all persons in this state, it is necessary and required that every law enforcement agency in this state be prepared to respond to an active assailant event. To be adequately prepared, each law enforcement agency must create and maintain an active assailant response policy.
(1)By October 1, 2023, each law enforcement agency in this state shall have a written active assailant response policy that:
(a)Is consistent with the agency’s response capabilities; and (b) Includes response procedures specifying the command protocol and coordination with other law enforcement agencies.
