Subject to all of the requirements of this section, the lives of a group of individual members of an association or members and their employees or dependents may be insured, for the benefit of persons other than the association or any of its official representatives or agents, under a policy issued to the association or to the board of trustees of a fund established in this state for the association, if the members of the association are engaged in a particular profession and are licensed to engage in the profession in this state and if the association has been in existence for at least 2 years and holds regular meetings not less than annually to further the purposes of the association members.
