Text

(1)The office:
(a)May make investigations and examinations within or outside of this state as it deems necessary: 1. To determine whether a person has violated or is about to violate any provision of this chapter or a rule or order hereunder; or 2. To aid in the enforcement of this chapter.
(b)May require or permit a person to file a statement in writing, under oath or otherwise as the office determines, as to all the facts and circumstances concerning the matter to be investigated.
(2)When it is proposed to conduct an investigation or examination, the office may gather evidence in the matter. The office may administer oaths, examine witnesses, and issue subpoenas.
(3)Subpoenas for witnesses whose evidence is deemed material to any investigation or examination may be issued by the o
