Text
(1)Any person desiring to be licensed as a genetic counselor under this part must apply to the department on a form approved by department rule.
(2)The department shall issue a license, valid for 2 years, to each applicant who meets all of the following criteria:
(a)Has completed an application.
(b)Has submitted to background screening in accordance with s. 456.0135.
(c)Is of good moral character.
(d)Provides satisfactory documentation of having earned: 1. A master’s degree from a genetic counseling training program or its equivalent as determined by the Accreditation Council of Genetic Counseling or its successor or an equivalent entity; or 2. A doctoral degree from a medical genetics training program accredited by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics or the Canadian
