For any municipality, special fire control district, chapter plan, local law municipality, local law special fire control district, or local law plan under this chapter, all state and other funds received by any municipality or special fire control district under the provisions of this chapter shall be deposited by such municipality or special fire control district immediately, and under no circumstances more than 5 days after receipt, with the board of trustees. In lieu thereof, the municipality or special fire control district may provide authorization to the division for the direct payment of the premium tax to the board of trustees.
