(a)Upon the consolidation of reorganized school districts under § 1027 of this title, the school boards of such consolidating reorganized school districts shall be dissolved as of the effective date of consolidation.
(b)Except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, the State Board of Education shall upon consolidation appoint 5 members of the previously existing school boards of the consolidating districts to the school board of the consolidated district and shall designate 1 member to serve for a term of 5 years, 4 years, 3 years, 2 years, and 1 year, respectively.
