Previously elected or appointed school board members of component former school districts and all members of the board of a subdivided high school district board who reside within the reorganized school district, including those members elected at the regular election in May 1969, shall continue to serve out their respective terms on the school board of the reorganized school district constituted and established on July 1, 1969, notwithstanding any other provisions of this title to the contrary, except that in the case where a reorganized school district is composed of 1 or more non-1-through-12 grade component former school districts and 1 or more component former school districts previously providing grades 1 through 12, only the member elected in May 1969, in each of the non-1-through-1
