Text

(a)An individual health plan or group health plan, a health insurer offering health insurance coverage for prescription drugs, and health insurance coverage through Medicaid and the D.C. Healthcare Alliance program shall provide coverage for a supply of contraceptives intended to last over the course of a 12-month period, that shall be dispensed all at once or over the course of the 12 months at the patient's election, including for over-the-counter contraceptives and contraceptives obtained from a licensed pharmacist pursuant to § 3-1202.08(g-1) ; provided, that the D.C. Healthcare Alliance program shall not be required to provide coverage for a supply of contraceptives intended to last longer than the period of recertification for the D.C. Healthcare Alliance.
